HONG KONG - The Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor announced Tuesday that an Independent Review Committee on Hong Kong's Franchised Bus Service has been set up to review the operation and monitoring of franchised buses.Upon the occurrence of the fatal incident on Tai Po Road on Feb 10, the Chief Executive announced on the same day that an independent committee chaired by a judge would be set up to ensure that public bus services of Hong Kong are safe and reliable.Lam introduced the obligations and the members of the Committee on Tuesday.The Committee will formally commence its work in late March 2018, and will submit a report to the Chief Executive in around nine months' time.Lam appointed Michael Victor Lunn, the Vice-President of the Court of Appeal of the High Court as the Chairman of the Committee, Auyeung Pak-kuen, the Chairman of the Council of Lingnan University and Lo Hong-kam, the Chair Professor and Department Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as members of the Committee.The Committee may invite submissions from interested parties and from the public on relevant matters, and should use its best endeavors to submit its report within nine months. custom wristbands uk
